The convention, the world’s largest gathering of industry stakeholders, will come to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center June 18-21, 2012.

MassBio will lead the Massachusetts presence at the show, by managing the 7,700-square-foot Massachusetts Pavilion and coordinating various convention-related programs and events.

“We have a great story to tell and we intend to tell that story in the Massachusetts Pavilion,” said MassBio President & CEO Robert K. Coughlin.

“It will truly reflect the innovative spirit of the Massachusetts culture and explain why Massachusetts is undoubtedly leading the nation and the globe.

We hope our members come out to share their time and talents to make this a successful event.”

State and local leaders have thrown their support behind the event, and joined industry stakeholders at a Massachusetts Pavilion kickoff breakfast in October.

“It’s an honor to have BIO coming back so soon,” said Gov. Deval L. Patrick. “By drawing the world’s attention once again to our state’s inherent strengths, we can and we will create both the immediate and long-term economic impacts that benefit businesses, workers and families across the Commonwealth.”

“Biotechnology is an industry that continues to grow and thrive here in Massachusetts,” said Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino. “People are flocking to us, wondering, ‘What does Boston have?’

This is our chance to showcase everything that we have to offer to life sciences companies and to strengthen our success as a global leader.”

Bio International Convention Boston 2012

The 2012 BIO International Convention will feature keynote luncheons, super sessions and more than 125 breakout sessions and will provide attendees with the opportunity to meet with
more than 1,700 exhibiting companies and hear from more than 1,000 expert speakers and global thought leaders.

Annually, the convention attracts the biggest names in biotech, offers key networking and partnering opportunities and provides insights and inspiration on the major trends affecting the industry. It is the world’s largest conference devoted to the bustling intersection between commerce and the biotech industry, highlighting the many ways in which biotech continues to offer answers and hope for the world’s most pressing issues and provide high-quality, high-wage jobs.

The 2011 convention was held in Washington, D.C. and attracted 15,626 industry leaders from 48 states and 65 countries.

The event drew 11 U.S. governors – including Gov. Patrick – and more than 100 international public officials.

This year, for the first time, BIO will offer expanded partnering opportunities by providing access to a greater number of companies and other potential partners within the BIO One-on-One PartneringTM and greater flexibility in scheduling meetings and meeting locations.

The event will also include the BIO Business Forum, which offers attendees an unparalleled opportunity to engage in partnering discussions.

The Massachusetts Pavilion will also host panel discussions, a networking reception and other activities.

The exhibit space will feature innovative wall displays and interactive kiosks.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
